San Jose Buddhist Sensei Memorial Tournament 2009

Just rolled back in from San Jose Ca. I have a few clicks so I thought I would throw up some pictures from this past weekend. First I been hard at this Judo and work out thing for the past few months, at least 4 and up to 6 days a week ! And it payed off. I won 1st. place and my little student and the hardest working kid at Zenyu Judo dojo- Sara took 2ed in the 11 year old division and had one of the sweetest throws in her last match !! It was one of those throws that had every coach on the side lines saying " Wow did you see that one" !! It Rained all weekend just like Seattle. The picture of Sara and the guy is Mike Swain-he won a silver at the Olympics and the last one is somewhere along the rail line where we got kicked off "this really happened and they really took it personal -you would have thought that the two cops who threw us off that they owed it " ? I guess next time all buy a ticket -who would have guessed ?

One Long Month

I swear that I have to had to pay every debt to the gods this last month !! But this last week has been the most trying. My granddaughter and I have been sharing the same cold for the past month with the grand finally being a good case of phnamoia for the two of us-- she ended up in the Hospital Monday and at 28lbs she was one sick child. And if that were not enough to deal with , mother nature decided to dump a couple gazillion gallons of water into the area and My daughter's house began to flood out. When it rains it f%%%%en pours.. Evelyn got out of the hospital on Friday night she is still very weak and will be for some time Grandpa is just about over it I worked out at the gym this afternoon and after two days of helping out at the Washington State Judo Championships its was time get some exercise and now sit down drink a beer and chop away at a post and a few e-mails . I took these pictures at the hospital the guy in the one picture is Mat he was Evelyn's nurse - yea I know a guy nurse but let me tell ya I couldn't have hand pick a better nurse he was Great... When I arrived at 830 Thursday my grand baby hated Mat ! wouldn't even make eye contact with him -he even told me this so I felt it my job to make it work between the two of them. I went to work having Mat stay in the room and asking him every question I could think of, Evelyn began to loosen up and by the end of the day went with Mat to the play area .. That was a good day.

Christmas 2008

These pictures were taken at our house Christmas eve . Believe it or not we have lots of snow on the ground so getting here made things even harder then they are usually are . And the next day I went to the the doctor and was told I have pneumonia so for the last few days I have been sleeping and while I'm not doing that I cough, . but the drugs I think are helping me out. Last year I got the flu shot and still got the flu. This year I passed on the shot and still got the flu...

Burnaby B.C. 2008

We ended the year with one last trip up to B.C. this past weekend. Zenyu brought up 5 kids and one old guy being me. We brought home 3 first 1 second and 2 kids not winning- oh well just shows we need more practice. Just a few shots of us having fun... Myself and three of the kids stayed overnight and woke up to a beautiful morning so nice when I set up the Lexus to take us back home the GPS took us along the Frazure river a little out of our way , it was way worth the delay... Sometimes you have to trust the eye in the sky or maybe it was God trying to slow us down...

Sunday night at the AC/DC Concert

I have done all kinds of stuff in my life, but I have to say this concert was really fun. Sean My nephew and Jeff my brother drove down to the Tacoma Dome in a Big RV to a pre concert party. After a few beers I was ready to go see some ROCK N ROLL - VERY! VERY! LOUD ROCK AND ROLL !!!! I tell ya it's a must! go see this band live before your only able to see them on Video...

Continental Crown

This weekend was the Continental Crown here in Seattle . We Started with a weigh in on Friday night followed by a pasta feed held at our house. Saturday started early with the first matches kicking off at 9:30 Zenyu had around 22 people signed up and fought , we did well a few first a lot of seconds and thirds with the last matches finishing around 6:00 ,after that we helped with the tear down . I competed in the masters and fought the same guy twice beating him with ippons both times my goal was to win with a arm bar but know such luck I had to throw him both times with drop knee seonage ,, it still felt good ...
