Whidbey Island 2007

Another weekend and more hardware for Zenyu!!! I thought we would have a tough time this weekend ,but I was wrong the team is pretty out of shape but I was relieved to see most of the other teams were as well, thank god there is always the chance of injury when were not fit and believe me I know first hand. The kid standing next to me is Daniel Mcsween he came to us after having major brain surgery and begged us to let him join the club ,after 2 months of haggling with his doctor we let him in.I don't think the kid had ever even done a tumble so after 9 months with us and a lot of hard work on his part he fought his first tournament today, all I know is that as his coach I could not have more proud when he came back off the mat we should all have his drive and determination even after losing the match we both knew that we won by beating all the odds that he's faced over his life .I'm sure that Daniel will keep breaking down more walls in his life but today was one of his biggest yet I'm sure he still awake tonight thinking about his day "as he should be"....

What a great story, Bobby. When you're coaching a kid in the game of life, every day you win.
