Well , if you know me at at all you know that I love the sport of Judo . I'v have never been a national champion I have never one much of anything but local and regional tournaments , but I have always supported in one way or another judo in the area that I live in . It makes my day to know we have have 5 kids from our state that are going to be in Las Vagas next weekend and will compete in Olympic Trials I will be in the stands watching. This weekend two of our kids made the two hour trip up north to Western State University to compete Sabrina is 11 years old and Sara is 10 years they both were in different divisions and both were successful, Sara got 1st after having to fight a girl from Redmond a girl that she has not yet been able to beat she lost the the first match to her in about 4 seconds Sara forgot to kill the high grip!!! after getting back her composure her second match was one with ippon then she had to fight Mica again TWO TIMES both wins!!!! second by ippon and for Sabrina she placed 2ed her lost was to a girl from Ippon Dojo in Tacoma Wa. she did how ever throw the girl from Ippon and Everyone including her coach said it was full ippon but our blind ref's from Canada seem to think it was only a wazari after that as strong as Sabrina is she got pinned.. were going to work on that little problem .in how both kids got some great fight time . And well I turned 50 a few weeks back and decided to throw my hat in to the masters division yea your reading this one right I was the second oldest guy there and the guys I had to fight were both 35 years old and both from Canada ,there were 4 guys in my division and I got third and have to say I had a blast!!!! I got kind of banged up lots of scuffs on my face and my legs fill like I was in a kicking contest with a mule oh yea I will be at the dentist this week to get a chip tooth fixed . I may never do this again but won things for sure the 35 year olds may be able to kick my ass but there going to have to work at it.... By the way thanks mom for throwing all my trophies up into the attic so that some day I could go up and get them or should I say just the first one I ever won..
