Building a National Champion

This past week in San Francisco Sara one of my judo kids I have taught from the very first day she walked into our club won the USJF National Championship at 11 years old and fighting at the 11-12 48kg .. We have been training the past 5 weeks 5 days a week mostly at a club in Tacoma to get ready for the Jr. Olympics in Fl. this coming weekend. Were taking 9 kids down and all have the talent to win there divisions . So anyway we can't wait to fight!! and are hoping we get the very first match . Very few kids would ever be able to train as hard as these 9 kids have - we have burned out all there training partners , stressed there parents to the max. taken advantage of everyone we had to, asked countless people to help us out with funds , unused air mileage and time off from work but seeing a kid like Sara on the mat use everything we have taught her completely crush her opponents and at the end of the day come running! off the mat and jump on me with the biggest hug ever , well makes it all worth it..
